6th EUROPEAN MUSIC ANALYSIS CONFERENCE

Call for Papers
Following previous meetings in Colmar (France), Trento (Italy), Montpellier (France), Rotterdam (Holland) and Bristol (UK), the 6th European Music Analysis Conference will take place jointly at the Hochschule für Musik and the Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg (Germany) from 10–14 October 2007. Proposals for papers of 20 minutes’ duration are invited on any subject, but particularly in connection with the following topics:

1. Analysis and performance practice

2. Text and music

3. The interpretation of new music

4. The notion of improvisation in the 18th century

5. Formenlehre (theory of form)

6. (Free papers)

Proposals of no more than 300 words (completed in English, French or German, and indicating clearly the category into which the intended topic falls) should be sent, either on disk or in e-mail form, to: Prof. Ludwig Holtmeier (Conference Director), Hochschule für Musik, Freiburg, Schwarzwaldstraße 141, 79102 Freiburg, LHoltmeier@onlinehome.de. Please note that the closing date for submissions is 15 July 2007.

The full programme will be announced towards the end of July 2007 and details will be posted on the conference website at www.gmth.de. The Conference is organised by the liaison group of European music analysis societies in association with the Gesellschaft für Musiktheorie (GMTH), the Gesellschaft für Musik und Ästhetik, the Hochschule für Musik and the Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg.

Call for Papers
Nach den Konferenzen in Colmar (F), Trento (I), Montpellier (F) and Rotterdam (NL) und Bristol (GB) findet die 6th EUROPEAN MUSIC ANALYSIS CONFERENCE zum ersten Mal in Deutschland statt. In der Tradition der europäischen Kongresse für musikalische Analyse stehend, ist es den Veranstaltern ein besonderes Anliegen, die unterschiedlichen nationalen Forschungstraditionen zusammenzuführen. Entsprechend dem interdisziplinären Thema kooperieren bei diesem Kongress, die Universität Freiburg, die Musikhochschule Freiburg, die Gesellschaft für Musik und Ästhetik und die Gesellschaft für Musiktheorie: Die internationale Tagung ist zugleich eine zentrale Veranstaltung der 550 Jahrfeier der Albert-Ludwigs-Universität und der VII. Jahreskongress der Gesellschaft für Musiktheorie. Zu folgenden Sektionsthemen werden Beiträge erbeten:

1. Musikalische Analyse und Aufführungspraxis

2. Text und Musik

3. Zur Interpretation Neuer Musik

4. Zum Begriff der Improvisation im 18. Jahrhundert

5. Formenlehre

6. Freie Beiträge (Free papers)

Die Vortragsdauer ist auf zwanzig Minuten beschränkt, Konferenzsprachen sind Englisch, Deutsch und Französisch. Abstracts (maximal 500 Worte) per Post oder per Email bis 15. Appel à Communication
Après les éditions des Congrès de Colmar (Fr), Trento (It.), Montpellier (Ff.) Rotterdam (Nl.) et Bristol (Angl.) le 6ème Congrès européen d’analyse musicale aura lieu au Conservatoire de Musique et à l'Albert-Ludwig-Université de Freiburg (Allemagne) du 10 au 14 octobre 2007. Vous êtes invité à proposer des communications (d’une durée de 20 minutes) sur les thèmes suivants:

1. Analyse musicale et Interprétation

2. Texte et Musique

3. Interprétation de la Musique contemporaine

4. La notion de l'interprétation au 18ème siècle

5. Formenlehre (Théorie de la Forme)

6. Free papers

Veuillez indiquer la thématique dans laquelle la communication se situe. Les propositions (en anglais, français ou allemand) doivent être présentées sous forme de résumé de 300 mots (maximum).
