Gabriele Cecchetti

Gabriele Cecchetti studies the cognitive underpinnings of musical syntax as a doctoral researcher at the Digital and Cognitive Musicology Lab (DCML) of the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). He obtained an MPhil with distinction at the Centre of Music and Science of the University of Cambridge under the supervision of Prof. Ian Cross. He was awarded scholarships from the Cambridge Trust and Regione Lazio, as well as a Master’s Award and a Brahm-Schild Internship Grant from Homerton College. He previously graduated as a physicist and cellist in Rome. As an experienced musician with a particular devotion towards chamber music, he has collaborated with several orchestras in Italy, as well as with the educational programs of the Accademia Nazionale “Santa Cecilia”.
Gabriele Cecchetti è dottorando presso il Digital and Cognitive Musicology Lab (DCML) dell’École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), dove studia i fondamenti cognitivi della sintassi musicale. Dopo gli studi in fisica e violoncello a Roma, ha conseguito il MPhil presso il Centre for Music and Science dell’Università di Cambridge sotto la supervisione del Prof. Ian Cross. Ha ottenuto borse di studio dal Cambridge Trust e dalla Regione Lazio, oltre che il Master’s Award e un Brahm-Schild Internship Grant dall’Homerton College. Da musicista con una particolare devozione per la musica da camera, ha anche collaborato con diverse orchestre in Italia e con i programmi giovanili dell’Accademia Nazionale “Santa Cecilia”.
